As August turns to September, the days grow shorter, and the kids go back to school, our thoughts move from bathing suits and beach blankets to backpacks and cool autumn breezes. While many of us resist the first signs of fall, thinking it's just a short time to the cold winter that lies ahead, autumn is a time to embrace the spirit of New England. No where else is there such wonderful displays of autumn than in our region. The natural fall foliage is just the beginning - New Englanders don their fall decorations better than any others. Cold Hardy Chrysanthemums: Late August-November
Beautiful shades of Orange, Red, Yellow, Bronze, Purple White, & Pink epitomize the Chrysanthemum as the fall classic it is. Tolerant of frost, this annual is sure to catch everyone's eye as a single pot placed in a doorway, or as a mass planting along your driveway. Insect, disease, and deer resistant, it's about the most carefree plant on the market. Our Chrysanthemums come in 5 sizes:
- 4" pot - perfect for window boxes or party favors

Ornamental Cabbage: Mid September-December
Add some interesting and colorful foliage to your fall landscape with ornamental cabbage! These easy-to-grow cabbages will last well into the cold weather long after most other garden favorites have succumbed to the freezing temperatures. Flowering Kale: Mid September-December
Perhaps the most bang for your buck this time of year, flowering Kale....doesn't actually flower. But its beautiful whirls of ruffly foliage in shades of white, pink, and red sure make it look like it's in bloom. This cold hardy annual will actually last until it snows!
